Paul Christopher Musgrave is a Canadian pianist, composer, and author. In collaboration with Japanese composer Machiko Yamane,
he produced Lavender, an album that features their original music for
piano and string orchestra.
For many years after Lavender's initial release, all tracks on the CD were often heard on radio stations
across Canada and the USA, as well as in Japan and Europe.
Machiko and Paul have also produced and marketed over two dozen
music CDs featuring Canadian musicians
such as
John Arpin,
Alden David, and
Peter Triggvi. Many of these CDs are still available from April Avenue Music.
Alternatively, most of the music can be purchased as individual mp3 tracks on
Amazon.com and iTunes.com.
More recently, Paul and Machiko created their popular
Doctor Mozart music theory workbooks,
to help young music students enjoy learning music theory in-depth. These colorful workbooks are available from
Amazon.com,
BooksAMillion.com,
BarnesAndNoble.com,
Chapters.ca, and
SheetMusicFast.com.
In his youth, Paul Christopher Musgrave studied piano with Boris Berlin at the University of Toronto.
He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School in New York,
where he studied with Beveridge Webster.
Paul is also an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Among Paul and Machiko's former piano students are their sons Kevin,
who is an electrical engineering student at McGill University,
and Jeff, an accomplished
graphic designer and musician.

"Absolutely smooth! Quality music like Paul Christopher's is rare." John Pemble, KTPR, Fort Dodge IA
"A refreshing, classically-oriented, new age sound that is a satisfying discovery to thousands of listeners. A delicate and absorbing sound, Lavender is sure to give rise to many images and sensations once it fills the air around you. It is as fresh as the breeze on a hyacinth-covered open field, yet as elegant as a candlelight dinner for two high above Park Avenue. It is as comforting as thoughts of love, yet subtle as unspoken words. It lets you choose the state of being you wish to experience." Margaret McCoy, Virginia Pathways Newspaper.
"Outstanding!" Eric Moon, WLKA, Rochester, NY
"We hope you continue to produce such fine music!" Andrea Springer, KHCC, Hutchinson, KS
